When Someone Asks You To March In a Parade

Of course you’re going to say “yes.” Why wouldn’t you? Maybe you’ve got a bum wheel or suffer from I’d-rather-have-the-parade-come-to-me syndrome. Other than that, I can’t think of a good reason not to be in a parade. Especially, if you’re an extrovert like me. This is a great way to meet new people and maybe even make some friends.
Sometimes when we go out to eat, in our little burb, I’ll look around and comment, “I don’t know anyone here.” That’s kinda sad. For some reason that’s important to me. It’s disappointing when no one seems familiar. It’s more interesting when we can make each others day better with encouraging words and actions.
Marching in a parade is a way to shake hundreds of hands and catch thousands of colds. The good news is that I’ll only be able to catch one cold, but there’ll still be a thousand hands.
Have you ever marched in a parade? Are you going to one this year?
