BounceBack from any setback

Not all set backs are visible.
It was the middle of Spring. My brothers and sisters had been doing the hard work of taking care of dad. He had problems with a bout of gout in the month of December.
It was hard for him to get around at all. Much less lead an active life.
I was the one that have moved away from home. I’m still a bit of an outcast for being two hours away.
When dad started to decline, I drove home when I could. No-one’s role in the family was easy. My job was probably the easiest.
When dad “took a turn for the worse”, everyone’s role got harder. Within a few more weeks, less than 25 in all, dad had passed.
That time was difficult, but served to bring our family closer together. This was a family that was already close.
My family members all have a different memory of that time.
Excuse me?
My family members all have a different memory of that time.
That doesn’t mean that one memory is right and another is wrong. We all get to choose our past.
We get to choose how we remember our past. We get to choose how we view that experience.
And how we view that experience will determine what we do with that experience.
How does it serve you?
Does it make you waller in self pity? Do you look for someone else or something else to make you feel better? Or, does it make you smile? Does it lift you?
