Everyone is disabled
One thing I know is that we are all disabled. If you think you’re not disabled, that’s your disability.
When I was young, I used to sit in my dad’s haymow (part of the livestock barn where farmers keep hay and straw). I’d look out the opened window. and see the crops growing. It never occurred to me that the window was open. That was just the way it was. It let the air flow through the building. It provided a constant sense of freshness and kept the hay or straw from getting moldy.
It also allowed birds to fly through the barn at their own will. They didn’t care and I didn’t care. It was fun to watch them. The hogs, cows, and our pony enjoyed it because it allowed them to be outside without being outside.
That window is like our minds. We need to have that window there to keep us from getting stale. It has to be open. What we believed yesterday isn’t what we have to believe today. Our feelings changed. Our thoughts change. It never ends. The cycle needs to continue where we learn, react, and perfect. Learn, react, and perfect.
We have to have that window there to allow us to live. It allows us to throw out what isn’t working and allow what is working to come in.
Go live your life today and every day with the window open.
How do you feel about staying open?
