How can your glass be half full when you keep drinking out of it!?
Have you ever wondered about those people who always look at life with a positive attitude. Let’s say, God forbid, someone close to them was in an accident. You may hear some people say how unfortunate, unlucky or untimely for that to happen. While they are saying how fortunate, lucky and timely they were. They say things like, “it could have been a lot worse”, “someone must have been watching over you”, or “you’re very fortunate”, “lucky” or even “blessed.”
There are two ways to look at this, as there is with most things. Do you see the glass as “half full” or “half empty.” This is just an illustrative way to tell how someone is positive or negative. I’ve been a “half full” guy for quite some time, maybe forever. You’re probably not surprised. Some say, it’s in my genes. Someday, you should meet Wally and Mary Jo Wagner. Then you’ll know that’s probably the case. In addition to that attitude, they started me off with a full glass.
There’s no doubt that my parents gave me a very good start, but I’ve lived more than half of my life away from home. Beyond that, I’ve associated myself with very positive people. They are the people that I listen to and go to for advice. They are the kind of people that I aspire to be. They keep filling me up.
Do you have people like that in your life? Are you like that for someone else?
I’d love to hear from you.
