Do you know anyone that’s visually impaired?

Blind people can see a lot. Over the last few weeks there have been many “sightings” that never would have been possible had I not gone blind. Going blind has allowed me to see more than you can ever imagine.
They say that when you lose one sense that your other senses are heightened. Really?
I’m not sure if that’s true, but you definitely need them more. I don’t smell any better than I used to. My hearing is put into question by my kids all the time. I don’t have the touch or feel that I used to. The only thing that I will say is that my tastebuds are still working.
It’s been said that the blind are limited to specific jobs. Really?
There are things that I’ve been able to accomplish that no-one would have ever thought possible. This notion has been minimized by a group of kids. They have taken visual impairment and turned it into a strength. Some of these kids can only see light. Some can’t even see that. It’s the world as they know it.
Yes, I’m working with kids that don’t have what I have. I’m experiencing life from a different perspective. I’m still different but in a different way. They look up to me. They can’t even see me.
My story is still interesting because it’s different. They are have stories too. We all do.
What yours?
