What’s your donut?
There are times that you just need to stop and have a donut.
Whether it’s an actual donut or some other release mechanism, we need to treat ourselves to something special.
While I was out for my walk this morning I started to feel bogged down with the pressure of what’s in the future. I was worried about how life will look after some huge investments that I’m making. I was worried that I might be making decisions for the wrong reason. I was worried that I might put myself in a hole that I can’t get out of.
Then I was walked by the sign that read “Home of the Best Donuts in Columbus for 13 years”. When they had only been in existence for a few years, they certainly had questions. Did I really think that they didn’t worry? Did I think that there weren’t times of uncertainty? Did I think they sometimes questioned their own decision making process?
Absolutely not! They made the decisions and kept moving.
So today, we can all celebrate them and celebrate ourselves. Celebrate milestones of any size. Celebrate how far you come whether it’s been 13 years or 13 days.

I have multiple “donuts”… 🙂
What I appreciate about your post Brian is to decide on a direction and follow it until you can’t. James writes in 1:2-4… “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
The role of perseverance cannot be underestimated. Thanks!
Thank you Ken. You are so right. Trials and struggles seem inconvenient at the time the take place. Looking back we realized their importance.
